WASABI 2nd Open Call
Supports SME-led experiments to develop and test AI-based digital assistance in manufacturing, aiming to enhance sustainability, agility, and job attractiveness through improved human-machine interfaces.
The WASABI 2nd Open Call aims to support SME-led experiments that develop and test AI-based digital assistance solutions within the manufacturing sector. The goal is to enhance process sustainability, agility, and job attractiveness through improved human-machine interfaces and digital tools.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call supports SME-led experiments that integrate Digital Intelligent Assistants (DIAs) into real-world manufacturing settings. These projects should involve developing task-oriented skills and deploying them through the WASABI ecosystem.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: The Open Call targets all manufacturing sectors, including but not limited to waste management, workforce management, and quality assurance.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Applications are only accepted from consortia composed of 2 to 3 legal entities, including at least one SME from the manufacturing sector and one Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) or European DIH (EDIH). An optional third partner can be included if additional IT expertise is required.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Consortia must be composed of legal entities established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Individual applications are not eligible.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects should address challenges in manufacturing by developing and integrating DIAs that support human-machine collaboration and simplify complex tasks.
PROJECTS DURATION: Each project is expected to last 12 months.
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: EU covers 60% of eligible costs for for-profit entities; non-profit entities receive 100% funding.
Budget conditions / limitations: The maximum funding per experiment is €125,000, with up to €60,000 per partner.
Payments: Distributed in three instalments—25% after initial deliverables, 50% after monitoring meeting, and 25% upon final approval.
