STREAMING - Open Call for Knowledge Transfer
Funding for digital learning content addressing sustainable innovations in the Africa-EU food trade system.
Type of projects to be funded: Development of digital learning courses covering key topics in sustainable food systems, aiming to support capacity building and innovation across Africa and Europe. Projects must include at least 30 lessons (each 45 min), be practically oriented, accessible, and integrate digital and interactive tools.
Sectors / domain: Sustainable agri-food systems, food security, nutrition, trade, food safety, innovation transfer and digital education.
Individual or consortium: Open to individual legal entities or consortia (2–3 partners max). Consortia must appoint one lead beneficiary responsible for funding and communication.
Specific eligibility requirements:
Applicants must be from EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, or any African Union Member State (even those temporarily suspended).
Entities from Russia, Belarus, or non-government-controlled territories of Ukraine are not eligible.
Minimum 60% of the total budget must go to African applicants.
Only one proposal per applicant (or per entity in a consortium) is allowed.
VAT or official national registration number is required.
Gender equality is a key evaluation consideration. Projects led by women or including gender-sensitive approaches are encouraged.
Specific topics or challenges: 11 grants will be awarded, each aligned with one of the following challenges (applicants must select one):
Traceability (1 grant): smallholder support, trade apps, direct sales, certification, EU Deforestation Regulation
Life cycle assessment (1 grant): LCA for trade opportunities
Sustainable farming systems (2 grants): climate-smart agriculture, water/land management
Nutritional requirements (2 grants): local food nutrition, awareness of neglected crops, alternative proteins
Reducing micronutrient deficiencies (2 grants): vertical farming, food preservation, fortification
Food waste reduction (1 grant): coaching, preservation, hot/cold smoking
Food safety (1 grant): safety in trade, pest control
Scaling innovations (1 grant): leadership, finance access, women-focused agri-food innovation
Projects duration: 8 to 12 months

Funding rate: 100% (lump sum)

€25,000 per grant
Total call budget: €275,000
