StandICT.eu - Open Call 2

StandICT.eu 2029 Open Call 2 funds European standardisation experts to contribute to international ICT standardisation activities, strengthening Europe’s role in global standards development.

TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call funds contributions to standards development and documentation, with specific roles such as chair, convener, or rapporteur in Standards Development Organisations (SDOs). It is structured in long term contributions (ongoing standards development) and short term (standards documentation).

SECTORS / DOMAIN: The call targets ICT standardisation across various domains including cybersecurity, data economy, 5G, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Only individuals or natural persons can applyto the standards long-term and short-tem contributions.

SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Eligible applicants must be from European Member States or Associated Countries, with a focus on ICT standardisation experts.

SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Applications should focus on the topics taken from the Multi-Stakeholder Platform Rolling Plan for ICT Standardisation. For Open Call 2 the priority topics are: AI (particularly contributing to CEN-CENELEC JTC 21) and technical topics covered by the EC Standardisation Request on high-risk AI-systems.

PROJECTS DURATION: Projects can last up to 9 months for long-term contributions and 3 months for short-term contributions.

BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 100% lump sum.
Budget conditions / limitations: Depending on the contribution, up to €10,000 for long-term, and €5,000 for short-term.
Payments: Payments are processed based on delivered and validated results, with prepayment options available under a valid justification linked to a milestone and evidence of the early request.
