SECURE First Open Call
The SECURE first Open Call supports EU and EEA mSMEs in improving cybersecurity resilience and Cyber Resilience Act compliance
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call funds concrete projects by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (mSMEs) that aim to strengthen their cybersecurity resilience and achieve compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Projects should contribute to enhancing cyber-secure products, processes, infrastructure, or governance aligned with CRA objectives.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: The call targets digital and cyber resilience domains, particularly activities related to cybersecurity for digital products, services, and components under the scope of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Only individual legal entities qualifying as mSMEs are eligible; consortia and business networks are not permitted.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Eligible applicants must be micro, small or medium-sized enterprises legally established in EU or EEA countries, meeting all legal, ethical and organisational criteria and demonstrating relevance to CRA scope in their business activities. Only one proposal per organisation is admissible.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects must directly support CRA compliance and cyber resilience, including risk management, security-by-design, product security improvements, governance and related cybersecurity measures.
PROJECTS DURATION: The call period (submission window) for the first open call is from 28 January 2026 to 29 March 2026; project implementation durations are defined in the official call documentation.
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 50% co-financing of eligible costs.
Budget conditions / limitations: Total call budget €5 million; maximum grant per project €30 000 (50% of eligible cost up to €60 000 maximum eligible project cost).
Payments: Grants are provided under lump-sum modality with options for pre-financing (40% after sub-grant agreement signature) and balance payment upon completion and approval of deliverables, subject to reporting and audit conditions.
KEY DATES: First call opens 28 January 2026 and closes 29 March 2026.
