RENEW-BOOSTER Open Call 1 Strand A (Challenge-driven projects)
The RENEW-BOOSTER open call funds SME projects enhancing renewable energy supply chain resilience and diversification in the EU.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call supports projects that develop innovations contributing to resilient and diversified clean energy supply chains, focusing on product innovation and supply chain diversification. These projects should lead to tangible results in a short-term.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: Photovoltaics, offshore wind, and energy grids.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Both individual SMEs and consortia are eligible, with each SME in a consortium eligible for a maximum of EUR 60,000 funding.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be SMEs as per EU definition, established in eligible countries, and comply with EU fundamental values.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects applying to Strand A must respond to specific challenges defined by relevant energy/industrial players (the challenges are linked product innovation and supply chain diversification.
PROJECTS DURATION: Challenge-driven projects (Strand A) will last 3 weeks during Step 1 (feasibility/proof of concept for reaching TRL 6-7), and 12 weeks for Step 2 (demostration/scale-up to achieve TRL 8-9).
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 80% for Step 1 and 60% for Step 2.
Budget conditions / limitations: Step 1 awardees will receive a €10,000 grant with at least 20% of private co-funding, while Step 2 beneficiaries will get €50,000 with at least 40% of private co-funding.
Payments: Only the scheme for Strand B is described in the Guidelines for Applicants.
