MASTER 2nd Open Call

Seeks to attract educational content creators to validate the MASTER platform and its technologies with students, addressing proposed challenges or their own within the project's scope.

The MASTER 2nd Open Call is designed to foster the development and validation of educational content in the field of robotics, leveraging XR technologies. This initiative is part of the broader MASTER project, which aims to enhance capabilities in robotics education through innovative XR tools and platforms.

Type of projects to be funded: Projects that create educational content and validate the MASTER platform and technologies with students from schools or professional training services .

Sectors / domain: Education and XR technology for robotics .

Individual or consortium: Both individual institutions and micro-consortia are eligible. Each consortium must include at least one non-profit educational institution, which must act as the coordinator .

Specific eligibility requirements:
- Eligible applicants are: universities/research/education non-profit organizations, SMEs, and large for-profit companies as challenge providers.
- Applicants must be from EU Member States, OCTs (Overseas Countries and Territories) linked to Member States, or third countries associated with Horizon Europe.
- At least one non-profit educational institution, which must act as the coordinator.

Industrial applications:
o EC – 1: Creation of machine tending applications
o EC – 2: Creation of line following robot applications
o EC – 3: Robot-assisted quality inspection
o EC – 4: XR for collaborative robot programming
Get to Know the Robots
o EC – 5: Understanding the robot reference systems
o EC – 6: Develop educational material focused on HRC for the general public
o EC – 7: Simulating robotic maintenance procedures
o EC – 8: Safety in human-robot collaboration
Open Challenge – Innovative applications on training of industrial robotics
o EC – 9: Introduction of AI on training of industrial robotics
o EC – 10: XR for remote and inclusive robotics education
o EC – 11: Multimodal interaction for XR-based robotics training
o EC – 12: Gamification of robotics training in XR

Projects duration: Funded projects will have a duration of 9 months, with the following stages:
- M1-M4: Design and creation of the education material.
- M5: Implementation to MASTER-XR platform.
- M6-M9: Educational validation.

Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
- Funding rate: 100% for educational institutions, 70% for SMEs, and no funding for large for-profit companies.
- Budget conditions / limitations: Up to €100,000 per application.
- Payments: Payments will be made in three instalments: 30% upfront, 25% after a mid-term report, and 45% upon final approval.

- Evaluation period: 13 June 2025 – 31 July 2025
- Contract preparation & signing: 18 July 2025 – 31 August 2025
- Project execution: 1 September 2025 – 31 May 2026 .
