LivingSoiLL Open Call
Funding opportunity for soil health innovation in vineyards and apple orchards in France and Poland.
The OC-2025-LIVINGSOILL open call supports projects enhancing soil health in vineyards and apple orchards within the Loire Valley & Beaujolais Living Lab (France) and the Grójec Living Lab (Poland). The selected projects will co-create and test innovative soil management practices in real-life settings.
Type of projects to be funded: Projects must establish new experimental sites to test soil health improvement techniques. Activities may include fieldwork, capacity building, collaboration, and dissemination efforts. Two project types are available:
- Type A: up to €35,000
- Type B: up to €75,000 (requires additional dissemination activities)
Sectors / domain: Agriculture, soil health, environmental sustainability, research & innovation.
Individual or consortium: Applications are open to single entities or two-entity consortia. Eligible applicants include landowners, research centres, companies (SMEs, startups, large firms), public administrations, and NGOs.
Specific eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be legally established in France or Poland.
- Projects must introduce at least one new experimental site in the Loire Valley & Beaujolais (France) or Grójec (Poland) region.
- Only permanent crops (vineyards and apple orchards) are eligible.
Specific topics or challenges:
- Preventing soil erosion and improving soil structure.
- Reducing fertilizer and pesticide impacts.
- Enhancing soil biodiversity and resilience.
- Increasing water storage capacity.
Projects duration: Up to 30 months (minimum collaboration period).
Budget, funding rates, and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 70% for private-for-profit organisations; 100% for other entities (public institutions, NGOs, etc.).
Budget conditions / limitations: Maximum funding per project: Type A projects up to €35,000; Type B projects up to €75,000 (must include additional workshops and soil management planning).
Payments: 50% upfront upon signing the sub-grant agreement; 50% after completion and approval of deliverables.
