Funding for SME-led innovation and demonstration projects deploying net-zero technologies in manufacturing to accelerate industrial decarbonisation and market uptake.
This open call supports SMEs in implementing and demonstrating net-zero technologies within manufacturing environments. It focuses on accelerating industrial decarbonisation through near-to-market solutions and fostering cross-regional SME collaboration. Projects must demonstrate tangible environmental and industrial impact within a short timeframe.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: Innovation and demonstration projects deploying mature net-zero technologies (TRL 5–8) in real manufacturing environments, including pilot activities, technology integration, digital solutions, circular economy implementation, and performance validation.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: Manufacturing, particularly Automotive, Mobility or Transport; Aerospace & Defence; and Energy-Intensive Industries.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Consortia only, with a minimum of 2 SMEs from different eligible NUTS 2 regions, acting as technology/solution provider and manufacturing end-user.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: SMEs established in EU Member States or countries associated with the COSME strand of the Single Market Programme; at least 2 independent SMEs from different NUTS 2 regions; only SMEs receive funding; one application per SME; compliance with financial and legal conditions.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects must address at least one net-zero technology category: battery and energy storage technologies, hydrogen technologies, electricity grid technologies, or renewable energy technologies for industrial decarbonisation. Also, one of more of the targeted industrial ecosystems should be adressed: automotive/mobility/transport, aerospace and defence and energy-intensive industries.
PROJECTS DURATION: Maximum 9 months.
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: Up to 90% lump sum.
Budget conditions / limitations: Minimum project budget €60,000; maximum grant €54,000 per project; minimum 10% private co-financing required.
Payments: 40% pre-financing at project start and 60% after completion and validation of deliverables and conditions
