FORTIS - OC#2.1 Pushing towards the deployment of FORTIS
Funding for multidisciplinary consortia to integrate and pilot FORTIS technologies for advanced human-robot collaboration, digital twins, XR interfaces and robotic localisation.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: Integration and pilot deployment projects that incorporate technologies into the FORTIS ecosystem and advance solutions from TRL 4–5 to TRL 7. Projects must address one of the defined Topic OC#2.1 subtopics related to human-robot collaboration and supporting technologies.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: Robotics and automation, with a focus on human-robot collaboration and the deployment of FORTIS technologies.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Consortium applications are required. Each consortium must consist of three eligible entities, including at least one SME, from at least two different eligible countries.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Eligible entities may include universities/RTOs, mid-caps, SMEs, startups and end-users. Projects must enter at TRL 4–5 and aim to achieve TRL 7 by project completion. At least one consortium member must be an SME.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Proposals must address one of the following subtopics: Optimisation of HRC / Task Allocation; Flexible Interface Digital Twin; HRI Watchdog; HRI Activities Digital Twin; Omnideployment of the FORTIS Solution; Ergonomics-Aware Human State and Interaction Context for Adaptive HRC; Interfaces with XR; or Trust-Aware Multi-Sensor Localisation and Mapping for FORTIS Robotic Platforms.
PROJECTS DURATION: 10 months, divided into 3 sprints (3 + 3+ 4 months).
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 100% for non-profit entities such as universities/RTOs and 70% for SMEs and other for-profit entities.
Budget conditions / limitations: Topic OC#2.1 has a total budget of €2,065,373.46 and is expected to support at least eight projects, with an indicative contribution of up to €250,000 per project. A cumulative ceiling of €200,000 per individual legal entity applies across all FORTIS Open Calls, and the budget allocated to non-industry partners may not exceed 30% of the total project budget.
Payments: Instalments are released after succesful completion of each sprint (30% + 30% + 40%).
