ENFIELD 2nd Innovation Scheme Open Call
Seeks to enhance EU competitiveness by funding applied research projects addressing scientific and technological challenges in Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, and Space through the adoption of AI technologies.
The ENFIELD 2nd Innovation Scheme Open Call aims to attract research and industry entities to conduct applied research addressing specific scientific and technological challenges within the industrial domains of Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, and Space. This initiative seeks to enhance the ENFIELD network and foster the adoption of AI technologies to boost EU competitiveness.
Type of projects to be funded: The call will support projects that involve innovative research or application ideas. These projects should contribute to overcoming specific challenges defined for the call in the defined industrial sectors.
Sectors / Domain: Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, and Space.
Individual or consortium: Projects may be conducted by a single legal entity or by a consortium of at least two legal entities.
Specific eligibility requirements:
- Entities must be established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
- Elegible applicants are private for-profit companies (startups, SME, Midcaps and Large companies), and Reserach Centers.
- Applicants must not have any conflicts of interest with ENFIELD partners.
Specific topics or challenges: the projects should address specific
scientific/technological defined in the catalogue of challenges within the industrial domains of energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and space:
HEALTHCARE:
- IDH.1 - Enhanced AI-Powered Remote Patient Monitoring.
ENERGY:
- IDE.1 - Early Signs of Energy Poverty.
- IDE.2 - City Sustainability Index.
MANUFACTURING:
- IDM.1 - Enhancing robotic disassembly of electronics and household appliances with adaptive AI.
- IDM.2 -Metrics and tools for assessing dataset reliability and robustness in Smart Manufacturing.
- IDM.3 - Computer Vision for feet recognition.
- IDM.4 - Transitioning to Industry 5.0 by enhancing worker safety and well-being in the manufacturing industry.
SPACE:
- IDS.1 - Space-based maritime surveillance.
- IDS.2 - Robust vision-based autonomous navigation for low SWaP UAVs.
Projects duration: The implementation phase can last up to six months, depending on the proposal.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: Up to 70% of eligible costs for private-for-profit organisations.
Budget conditions / limitations: The total grant per proposal may not exceed €60,000.
Payments: Funds will be disbursed in two lump sums: 50% at project start and 50% upon achieving defined milestones.

- 17 June 2025 at 17:00 CET is the deadline for submission.
- Results will be communicated by 23 July 2025.
