EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative

Funding opportunity for organisations to develop deep tech training programmes across Europe, supporting the upskilling of at least 300 talents in emerging technologies.

The EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative has opened its Call for Training Proposals 2025, inviting organizations to enhance or expand deep tech training programs. The initiative aims to bridge the deep tech skills gap in Europe by fostering an inclusive, well-trained workforce that drives innovation in key technological areas. By supporting collaborative and forward-thinking training methodologies, it seeks to position Europe as a global leader in deep tech talent development, strengthening competitiveness and contributing to the digital and green transitions. Type of projects to be funded: The call supports the development, improvement, expansion, or update of training programmes in deep tech areas. Projects should contribute to upskilling, reskilling, and training individuals, ensuring scalability and impact.

Sectors / domain: Deep tech fields, including AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, quantum computing, robotics, biotech, sustainable energy, and Web 3.0, among others.

Individual or consortium: Only consortia are eligible, consisting of at least two independent legal entities from at least two different eligible countries. At least one partner must be from an EU Member State (MS), while the other can be from an MS or an Associated Country (AC).

Specific eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be or become Pledgers of the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative at least 10 working days before the call deadline (by 25 March 2025).
- Entities from EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries are eligible.
- Swiss entities can apply but will not receive funding unless an Association Agreement is signed before selection.
- Applicants must not have received funding from the DTTI Prize 2023 or DTTI Call for Training Proposals 2024 for the same activities.
- EIT KICs (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) are not eligible.

Specific topics or challenges: Proposals should address one or more of the 15 deep tech areas covered by the initiative:

2. Advanced Manufacturing
3. Advanced Materials
4. Aerospace, Automotive and Remote Sensing
5. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, including Big Data
6. Biotechnology and Life Sciences
7. Communications and Networks, including 5G
8. Cybersecurity and Data Protection
9. Electronics and Photonics
10. Internet of Things, W3C, Semantic Web
11. Robotics
12. Semiconductors (microchips)
13. Sustainable Energy and Clean Technologies
14. Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Metaverse
15. Web 3.0, including Blockchain, Distributed Ledgers, NFTs

Projects duration: 6 months, from 30 June 2025 to 31 December 2025.

Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 100% (lump sum grant).
Budget conditions / limitations: Each consortium can request up to EUR 60,000. The total available budget is EUR 1 million.
Payments: 25% pre-financing at project start, 75% final payment upon project completion and approval of deliverables.
