EIT Culture and Creativity: Short Innovation Projects 2025 - Segment 2
A funding opportunity for short-term innovation projects (up to 6 months) in the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI). Segment 2 is for consortium applications.
Type of projects to be funded: The call supports short innovation projects (max. 6 months) focusing on bringing innovations to market in key CCSI sectors. Projects must start at TRL 7 and progress to TRL 9.
Sectors / domain: Fashion, Cultural Heritage, Architecture, Gaming, and Audio-Visual Media.
Individual or consortium:
- Segment 2: Open to consortia of two entities, including one SME/micro-enterprise and a supporting organisation (e.g., research institution or technology provider).
Specific eligibility requirements:
- Open to SMEs and micro-enterprises legally established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries.
- Minimum 30% co-funding required.
- Segment 2 must involve organisations from two different eligible countries.
Specific topics or challenges:
Fashion: Circular economy and digital innovations. Priority areas for innovation:
- Innovative uses of Audio-Visual Media (hereinafter AVM) and gaming technologies to reduce environmental impact, lower material use, and shorten value chains.
- Solutions that alter consumer behaviour by promoting repair over replace and increasing acceptance of repurposed materials.
- Circular fashion practices that focus on sustainability and global brand-building through digital and innovative methods.
Architecture: Sustainable building practices and energy efficiency. Priority areas for innovation:
- Digital innovations that enable circular building practices, supporting reuse and reducing waste.
- Architectural innovations that strengthen social cohesion and promote sustainable urban environments.
- Innovations that reduce energy consumption in existing buildings through retrofitting.
Cultural Heritage: Digital and immersive technologies for preservation and accessibility. Priority areas for innovation:
- Projects that leverage AVM and gaming technologies to support the preservation of cultural heritage.
- Business models that create new revenue streams for cultural heritage, scalable across international markets.
- Innovations that strengthen local heritage, identity, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Audio-Visual Media: AI-based content creation and sustainable production. Priority areas for innovation:
- AI-based innovations that improve workflow in content production and reduce environmental impact.
- Cross-industry applications of immersive AVM technologies in sectors such as healthcare, gaming, and fashion.
- AVM technologies that support decision-making platforms for town planning and community involvement
Gaming: AI-driven safety solutions and cross-industry applications. Priority areas for innovation:
- AI solutions that improve user safety, including addressing gaming addiction and toxicity.
- Development and scaling of disruptive technologies like AI, no-code platforms, and third-party payment systems.
- Cross-industry applications of gaming technologies in fields like healthcare and education.
Projects duration: Up to 6 months.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Segment 2: Max. €120,000 per project (Total budget: €2,640,000, up to 22 projects).
Funding rate: Up to 70% EIT funding, with at least 30% co-funding.
Payments: 30% pre-financing, 70% upon completion.
All financially supported projects within the innovation calls are required to contribute to EIT CC’s financial sustainability. Please note that EIT CC’s preferred option for projects supported in this call is for Equity Participation, if this option is not suitable, revenue sharing
or profit sharing will be considered.
