DANUBElifelines Call for Associated Regions
Seeks to engage regions in the DANUBElifelines project to implement restoration actions for migratory fish and enhance freshwater ecosystems through tailored technical assistance.
The DANUBElifelines Call for Associated Regions is seeking five regions interested in implementing restoration actions to support migratory fish populations within the Danube River Basin. By participating, regions will receive tailored technical assistance and access to DLL’s knowledge and support.
Type of projects to be funded: Projects focused on habitat restoration, monitoring, and planning for migratory fish, feasibility studies for dam removal, river connectivity improvements, and stakeholder engagement.
Sectors / domain: The initiative focuses on ecological restoration within the freshwater ecosystem sector.
Individual or consortium: This call is open to local and regional authorities from eligible countries.
Specific eligibility requirements: Eligible applicants include local or regional authorities from EU Member States, EEA countries, and ENP-associated countries. Entities from countries under EU restrictive measures or existing DLL partner countries are not eligible.
Specific topics or challenges: The call targets projects addressing restoration of migratory fish habitats, removal of migration barriers, and development of sustainable business models.
Projects duration: Projects are expected to align with the DLL project timeline, ending by 30 April 2029.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 100% (up to €100,000 per region).
Budget conditions / limitations: Only actual costs incurred during implementation can be reimbursed.
Payments: 40% upon grant signature, 40% interim payment, 20% final payment.
Key dates:
- Opening date: 1 September 2025.
- Submission deadline: 30 December 2025.
- Evaluation and selection within 3 months post-deadline.
- Contracting completed by 30 April 2026.
