CYberSynchrony - Open Call 2: Compliance and Innovation

CYberSynchrony invites proposals for its Open Call 2, focusing on Compliance & Innovation. This initiative seeks to enhance regulatory compliance and foster innovative cybersecurity solutions aligned with the NIS2 Directive across critical sectors such as energy, transport, water supply, and manufacturing.
Type of projects to be funded: The call funds projects dedicated to regulatory compliance and cybersecurity innovation. The projects should develop sector-specific tools and strategies, and support the creation of innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the NIS2 sectors.
Sectors / domain: Energy, transport, drinking water supply and distribution, and manufacturing.
Individual or consortium: Both single entities and consortia of up to three partners are eligible. For consortia, the coordinator must be an SME.
Specific eligibility requirements: Eligible participants include organisations (SMEs, public entities) involved in regulatory compliance; search institutions, or tech startups focused on cybersecurity innovation in NIS2 sectors; independent experts (SMEs, public entities, individuals) and cybersecurity innovators. Eligible countries include EU Member States, EEA countries, and several other participating countries.
Specific topics or challenges: The call targets initiatives promoting regulatory compliance in NIS2 sectors, innovation in cybersecurity technologies, and the enhancement of cybersecurity awareness and supporting cross-sector collaborations.
Projects duration: Projects are expected to last 8 months.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 100% funding rate, grants in lump sums.
Budget conditions / limitations: Maximum funding per third party is €200,000,
Payments: Payments are made in three instalments—30% pre-financing, up to 40% interim, and final payment upon project completion.
Key dates: The call opens for submissions on the 1st of January 2026 and closes on the 1st of March 2026. Proposals must be submitted by the deadline at 17:00 CET.
