BlueActionAA – Community Led-Pilot Action Call
Mobilises and engages communities across the Atlantic and Arctic regions to restore and protect marine and freshwater ecosystems through community-led initiatives, contributing to the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030".
The BlueActionAA – Community Led-Pilot Action Call is an initiative focused on engaging communities within the Atlantic and Arctic regions to restore and protect marine and freshwater ecosystems. The call is part of the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030," aiming to foster community-led actions for sustainable and impactful environmental change.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call funds community-led actions that pilot or implement innovative solutions aimed at achieving interconnected objectives within the targeted regions. Projects should focus on applied research with long-term community impact, rather than pure knowledge creation.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: The sectors include marine and freshwater ecosystem restoration, pollution prevention, and sustainable blue economy initiatives.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Funding is available for consortia only, with a minimum of two partners from different target groups. The consortium coordinator must be based in eligible countries such as France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Faroe Islands, Greenland, or Iceland.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Eligible consortia must be legally established in EU Member States or associated countries. At least one consortium member should have a link to local communities.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects should address objectives such as protecting marine biodiversity, eliminating water pollution, and advancing a carbon-neutral blue economy.
PROJECTS DURATION: Projects are expected to last between 6 and 24 months.
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 100% through lump sum grants.
Budget conditions / limitations: Grants range from €200,000 to €2,000,000 per project. The total budget allocated for this call is €7,000,000. Payments are milestone-dependent.

- Evaluation period: 01 June 2026 - 11 September 2026
- Results announcement: 30 September 2026
