BioAgora Co-design of the SPSI Methodological Infrastructure of the Future Science Service for Biodiversity (SSBD)

The BioAgora open call, "Co-design of the SPSI Methodological Infrastructure of the Future Science Service for Biodiversity (SSBD)," is a strategic initiative aimed at bridging the gap between scientific research and policy-making in biodiversity. It seeks to develop a robust methodological framework to enhance the Science Service for Biodiversity (SSBD) by fostering collaboration among scientists, policy-makers, and other stakeholders.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call supports projects that assess and propose a comprehensive methodological framework for the Science Policy Society Interface (SPSI), including creating a network of experts to exchange knowledge and develop guidelines for various contexts.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: Biodiversity governance and science-policy interfaces.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Proposals can be submitted by a single legal entity or a consortium of legal entities. All participants must be eligible under the EU Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be legal entities eligible for EU funding and cannot be subject to EU restrictive measures. Consortium members of BioAgora are not eligible.
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects should focus on urgent and in-depth knowledge synthesis in response to short-term policy needs and support the development of the SSBD. They should integrate innovative approaches, including AI, for methodological development.
PROJECTS DURATION: Projects should start by December 2025 and be completed by December 2026.
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Funding rate: 100%
- Budget conditions / limitations: Maximum funding amount of EUR 165,000.
- Payments: 50% prefinancing after the Subgrant Agreement and the remaining 50% after final report acceptance.
KEY DATES:
- Call launch: 27th May 2025
- Proposal deadline: 31st August 2025
- Project start: Earliest 1st December 2025
- Project end: Latest 31st December 2026.
