Karoliina Pärnänen is the Art Director of SLUSH, a celebrated new media artist, and a creative powerhouse. From crafting immersive 3D worlds to DJing, Karoliina’s work embodies the perfect blend of innovation and imagination. One of her standout projects this year was the SLUSH 2024 launch film, which employed advanced volumetric capture techniques to transport performers into a digital realm.
“SLUSH is the perfect place to explore the cutting edge of art and technology. Here, art leads, and technology amplifies,” Karoliina shared, highlighting the empowering role of tech in her creative process. Looking ahead, she envisions VR as the next big thing: “Once the tools become more accessible, sculpting in virtual spaces will be like traditional art, but with infinite possibilities.”
Nuno Leiria: Generative AI Revolutionizes Game Design
Nuno Leiria, founder and CEO of Nilo, is revolutionizing game design with generative AI. His platform allows users to create 3D art and code effortlessly, making game development faster, more collaborative, and accessible to creators of all skill levels.
“Think of it as ChatGPT for games,” Nuno explained. By breaking down barriers, Nilo empowers creators to focus on storytelling and creativity.
“Generative AI is reshaping not just gaming but every creative industry. The skills we need are evolving, and with the right vision, the opportunities are limitless,” he added. Nuno’s perspective highlights how technology enhances artistry rather than replacing it, pushing creators to adapt and innovate.
Anna Campbell: NFTs and Immersive Art
Anna Campbell, co-founder of NFT ART ROOM and the Wonderland Immersive Art Museum, is a true pioneer in blending traditional and digital art. By leveraging blockchain technology, Anna’s team has redefined art exhibitions, making them more secure and scalable.
“NFTs are digital certificates that enable artists to share their work globally without physical constraints,” Anna explained. Her immersive museum projects are transforming how audiences engage with art, from hosting simultaneous exhibitions across continents to fostering inclusivity with workshops young artists and artists with different disabilities.
Anna’s passion for education and empowerment was clear: “Art should reflect its era. By integrating AI and NFTs, we ensure today’s stories are told and preserved for the future.”
