Session#18 - Water Innovation & Protection Open Calls
Our event’s primary objective is to spotlight the upcoming opportunities in the field of Cascade Funding for European Innovators.
ULTFARMS 2nd Associated Regions Call: This call aims to advance circular low trophic offshore aquaculture in wind farms, alongside restoration of marine space. Innovators working on sustainable marine ecosystems are invited to apply.
The ULTFARMS Project is inviting proposals from Regional or Local Authorities for its Cascade Funding Call, aimed at promoting knowledge transfer and enhancing regional capacity in Low Trophic Aquaculture (LTA) and its integration with offshore renewable energies. Three Associate Region (AR) projects will be funded, focusing on identifying LTA potential, developing implementation plans, and building awareness. Eligible applicants are local and regional authorities in EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries, excluding Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden. Previous FSTP recipients from OLAMUR or the first AR Call are ineligible.
Deadline: 30/03/2025
ProCleanLakes Call for Associated Regions: ProCleanLakes is selecting local and regional authorities to scale up, replicate, and exploit the innovative solutions developed at the project’s demonstration sites for cleaner, healthier lakes.
RSs are expected to team up with the ProCleanLakes partners to adopt the project´s outcomes and knowledge and integrate them into a Roadmap for the restoration and protection of ENL located in the replication sites, which will be incorporated into a pan-European Action Plan for remediation and protection of ENL
Deadline: 31/03/2025
iMERMAID Extended Demonstration of the iMERMAID solutions in new associated regions: Funding opportunity for local/regional authorities to demonstrate and scale up iMERMAID solutions for chemical pollution prevention and remediation in new associated regions.
The iMERMAID Open Call #2 invites new ‘associated regions’ to join efforts in preventing, eliminating, and remediating water pollution from chemicals. Selected regions will receive funding and technical support to develop plans and projects that align with iMERMAID’s goals of addressing Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CoEC) in the Mediterranean. Proposals can replicate existing solutions in new regions and must adhere to iMERMAID’s objectives and processes.
Deadline: 31/03/2025
PartArt4OW First Call: Participatory Art for Society Engagement with Ocean and Water: engage local communities for protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity
The PartArt4OW Open Call supports participatory art initiatives that engage local communities in protecting and restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems. It seeks interdisciplinary projects blending art, science, and civic participation to enhance ocean literacy, raise awareness of environmental challenges, and mobilize citizens for action. Priority is given to inclusive projects that involve underrepresented groups and address local societal and ecological issues. Selected participants will join a six-month accelerator with mentoring and training while committing to sustainability and carbon neutrality.
Deadline: 03/04/2025
We invite all innovators, changemakers, regional and local authorities, as well as SMEs and startups, to explore these funding opportunities and take part in a vibrant community working toward impactful environmental solutions.
