EIT Health - Technology Transfer Offices & Entrepreneurship Support Call
Funding a consortium of Technology Transfer Offices and an Entrepreneurship Support Provider to deliver venture-building support that helps researchers turn promising healthcare innovations into incorporated start-ups.
TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: Delivery of components of the “Beyond the Lab: From Research to Venture” programme, supporting researchers with promising healthcare innovations who have identified company formation as their next strategic step. The selected consortium will deliver live masterclasses, structured mentoring and a final Pitch Day, helping participants develop entrepreneurial skills, validate market opportunities, advance commercialisation strategies and product development, and improve investment readiness.
SECTORS / DOMAIN: Healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and venture creation, with a focus on translating research outputs into healthcare start-ups.
INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: Consortium applications are required. The consortium must comprise, at least, 2 Technology Transfer Offices representing higher education institutions or research organisations and 1 Entrepreneurship Support Provider specialised in venture creation and start-up support.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The Technology Transfer Offices should represent higher education institutions or research organisations and contribute expertise in intellectual property management, technology transfer and researcher engagement. The Entrepreneurship Support Provider should demonstrate experience in venture building and start-up support, with expertise in areas such as business model development, market validation, investment readiness and start-up growth. Applicants must register their organisation in the EU Funding & Tenders Portal and obtain a Participant Identification Code (PIC).
SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: The programme addresses the gap between healthcare research and venture creation. Activities should help research teams validate market opportunities, build entrepreneurial and commercialisation capabilities, establish new companies and progress towards future investment and market development.
PROJECTS DURATION: The programme is delivered to 2 cohorts over 2 years (2027 and 2028), with each “Beyond the Lab: From Research to Venture” programme lasting 6 months.
BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 50%, the other 50% must come from sources different to EIT Health/KIC.
Budget conditions / limitations: Up to €77,000 is available in 2027 and up to €77,000 in 2028.
Payments: 50% in 2027 and 50% in 2028.
