BlueActionBANOS Open Call for Community-Led Actions

The **BlueActionBANOS Open Call for Community-Led Actions** aims to support initiatives led by stakeholder groups within Baltic and North Sea (BANOS) countries. These projects are expected to contribute to Mission Ocean and Waters objectives, focusing on protecting marine ecosystems, combating pollution, and fostering a sustainable blue economy. The call is designed to empower local stakeholders with innovative solutions tailored to their communities.
Type of projects to be funded: Projects should adopt a participatory approach that empowers local stakeholders, leveraging local knowledge and sustainable practices. Actions can include forming inclusive partnerships, designing innovative actions for tangible benefits, and contributing to EU Mission Ocean and Waters objectives.
Sectors / domain: The focus is on marine and freshwater ecosystems, pollution prevention, and sustainable blue economy initiatives.
Individual or consortium: Only consortia of 2 to 12 entities are eligible. These must include at least one entity registered in a BANOS country: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden.
Specific eligibility requirements: Eligible participants include regional authorities, NGOs, educational institutions, and locally based companies from BANOS countries. Entities from other EU Member States may participate under special conditions.
Specific topics or challenges: Projects must address at least one of the Mission Ocean and Waters objectives, such as ecosystem protection, pollution prevention, or promoting a carbon-neutral blue economy.
Projects duration: The maximum duration for funded projects is 24 months.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 100%
Budget conditions / limitations: Grants range from EUR 200,000 to EUR 2,000,000 per consortium, with a maximum of EUR 500,000 per entity.
Payments: Paid as a lump sum, with stages and deliverables defined in the Individual Integrated Project Plan.
