The PartArt4OW Second Open Call aims to engage Mediterranean communities in preventing, studying, and tackling water pollution through participatory art initiatives (PAIs). This initiative seeks projects that creatively combine scientific research with innovative artistic practices to address water pollution and its impacts on local communities.

Type of projects to be funded: Projects must engage local communities in innovative ways to prevent, study, and reduce ocean pollution. They should combine scientific research with artistic practices, focusing on the communities near oceans, rivers, and water basins.

Sectors / domain: The projects will focus on engaging communities in the Mediterranean region.

Individual or consortium: Both individuals and consortia are eligible to apply. However, the lead entity must be established in an EU Member State or an Associated Country.

Specific eligibility requirements: Projects must be based in EU Member States or Associated Countries and should host the PartArt4OW Sailing Lab in a yacht harbor or marina during its tour. Entities from Third Countries can participate in consortia but cannot lead.

Specific topics or challenges: The call focuses on addressing water pollution, including plastics, chemical pollutants, and other contaminants, in the Mediterranean.

Projects duration: The projects are expected to last for six months during the PartArt4OW acceleration programme from 2nd February 2026 to 31st July 2026.

Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
Funding rate: 100%
Budget conditions / limitations: Each project may receive up to €50,000.
Payments: The funding is provided in two instalments - 50% at the beginning and 50% upon approval of the final report.

Key dates: The call opens on 1st August 2025 and closes on 2nd October 2025. The Sailing Lab tour is scheduled between 21st June and 26th July 2026.
