Inkjet-bioAM Open Call

Strives to incorporate inkjet printing into the value chain for manufacturing medical products and pharmaceuticals in Europe, enhancing innovation ecosystems and supporting SMEs to develop investment-ready projects.

The Inkjet-bioAM Open Call is an opportunity for SMEs to develop innovative projects utilising inkjet printing technology for medical and pharmaceutical applications. The call supports projects that align with one of three pilot lines aimed at enhancing the manufacturing processes of medical products in Europe.

TYPE OF PROJECTS TO BE FUNDED: The call seeks projects that test and advance new ideas using inkjet printing technologies within one of three pilot lines: (1) Inkjet printing for functionalisation of 3D implants; (2) Inkjet printing for functionalisation of biosensors; (3) Inkjet printing for personalisation of pharma products. These projects should contribute to the value chains of a selected pilot line in collaboration with project partners.

SECTORS / DOMAIN: The focus is on the biomedical sector, specifically the manufacturing of medical products and pharmaceuticals.

INDIVIDUAL OR CONSORTIUM: This call is specifically targeted at individual SMEs, which will collaborate with the project partners involved in the pilot line.

SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: only SMEs established in the regions covered by the consortium (NL41, DE24, DE25, RO21, AT31, AT22, AT21, ES61), or in another less developed region of the European Union or in an outmost region are eligible. Companies must be legally recognised, not related by capital to other beneficiaries of the project, and must not have a history of unethical business practices. The projects to be developed must start with a TRL level of at least 6.

SPECIFIC TOPICS OR CHALLENGES: Projects should address specific technological advancements in inkjet printing for medical applications within one of three pilot lines: 3D implants, biosensors, or the personalisation of pharmaceutical products.

PROJECTS DURATION: Each project is expected to last a maximum of 9 months.

BUDGET, FUNDING RATES AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS:
Funding rate: 100%
Budget conditions / limitations: Projects can receive up to €60,000.
Payments: The payment schedule will be issued in 4 installments: pre-financing (20%), after acceptance of the co-crteation plan (50%), after acceptance of the final report (20%), and after presentation of the final results in the public event (10%).
