YouRban Open Call for Urban Factories
Seeks to enhance urban sustainability by financing FabLabs and other organisations to become Urban Factories, fostering expertise in reinforced polymers recycling and promoting circular economy practices within local communities.
The YouRban Open Call for Urban Factories is an initiative aimed at financing FabLabs, MSMEs, and laboratories interested in becoming Urban Factories. The goal is to build expertise in reinforced polymers recycling and promote circular economy practices among citizens and local stakeholders. Urban Factories will host designers and artists, providing technical knowledge and tools for prototyping activities in Milan (1 project) and Barcelona (1 project). Urban Factories will be asked to propose a set of both remote and in-presence activities, aimed to train the assigned creators and guide them through the realization of their projects. Urban Factories must guarantee the availability of equipment and personnel during the last month of the residency to finalize the prototyping process
Type of projects to be funded: The call supports Urban Factories projects that involve the recycling of reinforced polymers, providing technical expertise and tools for artists and designers to realise their project concepts.
Sectors / domain: Circular economy, particularly focusing on the recycling and reuse of composite materials.
Individual or consortium: Both individual entities and small consortia (maximum two legal entities) from EU countries are eligible.
Specific eligibility requirements: Open to natural persons, professionals, and companies from EU countries. Urban Factories must meet specific equipment and software requirements.
Specific topics or challenges: Projects should address innovative recycling solutions and involve community engagement in Milan and Barcelona.
Projects duration: Each project is expected to last for 8 months.
Budget, funding rates and payment conditions:
- Funding rate: 100%
- Budget conditions / limitations: Maximum budget of €80,000 per project (1 in Barcelona, 1 in Milan).
- Payments: 25% pre-financing, 40% interim, and 35% upon project completion.
